1. Brown meat and onions, drain off fat.
  2. Add all other ingredients into a large pot and simmer at least 2 hours.
  3. Remove bay leaves prior to serving.

Alternatives & Notes:

  • Great with crusty rolls, it freezes well and can also be made in a crock-pot.
  • *To save time I use canned tomatoes, crushed generally. I have also made recipe without tomato soup with delicious results! Either way it is a frequently requested recipe once tasted!
  • ** This is optional if additional beef flavour is desired.
