About the Role:
As a Houseplant Associate, you will be responsible to maintain the care and quality of the plants in the houseplant department, while assisting customers with any and every question they may have. Our houseplant department is diverse and ever-growing. This requires you to be passionate about plants and committed to continually enhancing your plant knowledge. In addition to providing exceptional customer service, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the houseplant department. You will be receiving shipments, watering, pricing, displaying, inspecting, and further caring for each and every houseplant.

Employment Type:
● Seasonal position

● Assist customers on the floor with questions and concerns in a positive demeanor, communicating with other departments as necessary
● Communicate across departments via radio when houseplant questions arise
● Water applicable plants daily and monitor all departmental plants
● Inspect plants; immediately inform supervisor of any concerns or required treatments
● Unload, unpack, and conduct an inventory of new stock from shipments
● Price and perform thorough inspections of each new plant from every shipment
● Maintain an organized and well displayed department
● Condense and rearrange floor displays to best present plant products
● Bring new stock from the back and display as necessary
● Further personal development in the knowledge of plants and sharing of knowledge with customers
● Perform tasks assigned by manager and follow any given instructions

● Strong customer service experience
● Strong existing houseplant knowledge, including plant identification and proper care (being a member of the 100+ plant club is a bonus)
o If you don’t know the difference between a rhapis excelsa, rhipsalis and rhaphidophora tetrasperma then this likely isn’t a job for you.
● Reliable form of transportation (public transit is not available to this location)
● Capability to perform physically demanding work, repetitive tasks and lift up to 50lbs
● Ability to greenhouse conditions (hot/cold environments depending on the season)
● Willingness to work 6 days a week during peak seasons (April-June)
● Availability to work weekends and evenings when required
