The inspiration for this mead was the delicious Ferrero Rocher chocolates that are now being made in Canada thanks to the growth of Ontario’s sustainable hazelnut industry. We aged our Carolinian mead with Ontario grown, toasted hazelnuts for a full 3 months, allowing a full incorporation of honey and nuts. We then blended it with apple juice and lactose to make it a true latte. The sweetness and creaminess of these items allows for a fully sessionable mead. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Tasting Notes: The cocoa and the nuttiness on the nose is cut with creaminess and sweetness on the palate. The notes of vanilla, apple and coconut are balanced with the apple and malted milk. The creaminess and sweetness allow for a long finish.
